I ran into another hurdle tonight while finishing up the bathroom. The register comes through the wall at the floor, instead of through the floor in front of the wall which would be more normal. The trouble I'm having is I can't seem to find a register that will work because all I'm finding have the damper that pivots from the top, so even with the back cut out to allow air in, the damper will always be in the way.
I know in my parents house (around 40 years old) they have registers that the damper pivots in the middle and will swing back but allow air to flow no matter where it would be comeing from. I know Menards doesn't have it, and neither does Lowes. I doubt a trip to home depot would prove sucessful either.
I even hit google and a site that only sells registers doesn't seem to have it. I put in an email to them, but we'll see how long it takes to get a response, if I get one. For the short term I can just put in the one that won't work just for looks, but I'd like to be able to have one I can shut off the air flow if I desire(It's right behind the toilet, so I don't want a refrigerated seat in the summer if you know what I mean....).
You guys haven't led me astray so far, so I know one of you guys will come up with the answer. I just want this *$#^!@% project over with. Almost there. Just need to plumb the PVC to the toilet and the sink drain, mount the toilet, and put in another peice of base trim. Waiting to figure out the register thing first.
