What to uses to kill battery acid on metal? I tried bake soda and washing with hot soap water after. But after primed and painted it seems to still haunt me.

Sometimes it's just stubborn. The acid gets into the metal especially if you have two pieces of metal overlaping each other. Baking soda will do the job, you just have to keep soaking it.

castrol super clean, the purple degreaser. It has a pH of 14+ and it will get into all teh cracks and crevices. be sure to rinse well with water adn dry immediately. It will remove a bit of surface rust as well with some light scrubbing, but it is no miracle cure. paint immediately after drying.
