battery cables

Ground connection...runs directly from Battery to a Cap Screw that attaches Starter to Housing.

AWG 00 (2/0) Diam. 0.3648
I had nothing but headaches with poor conductivity and lack of amperage carrying capacity on my 6 Volt Ferguson system. Starter cranks over fast now.

Bob..

Thanks am fighting cranking issues and no spark.
Have tried everything I can think of and have seen some posts regarding cable and ground issues.
Will give it a go.

Bigger is better. The cable is similar to a water hose larger diameter lets more power through for the 6 volt battery. If you ever increased to a 12 volt the smaller cables do fine. So 6 volt more power through the larger hose.

Just ordered all new cables.
2/0 on the grnd. log enough to hit the starter mount bolts and 1/0 for the battery to starter switch and on to the starter.
With the new cables and all else. I've done will see if it solves the spark issue also.

Welding cable makes a good substitute, the many fine strands carry even more current than coarser cables .
A common oversight is the mount connection between the starter and the bell housing . These surfaces must be clean and bright , most times after a starter has been refurbished the mounting surface has been covered in paint that ruins continuity .
