Battery charger odd workings

Honda 500 foreman ATV battery in bike charger on 2 amp setting Charger will pulse up to 6 amps bury the needle hold for about 10 secs then it drops back to zero amps . Switched charger same thing pulse on/off Try third charger same thing . What is going on ?

I agree, the battery is most likely bad. Put the charger on a different battery.
The old chargers I've worked on have auto reset circuit breakers.
Perhaps the newer ones have Thermal protection.

I don't remember the last charger I bought, it was a long time ago.

I still have, and it works and I've repaired it a time or two, the first charger I bought when I was in HS. Do the math, I graduated in 1967. Old school manual charger, no auto shutoff.
It has a circuit breaker.

Bad battery or a short (or a heavy accessory draw) in the ATV wiring.

Try charging the battery with it disconnected.

Well you tried 3 different chargers, maybe you need to try a 4th charger.

Have you checked the water level in the battery if you can ? It could be low in one of the cells.
