Battery conductance testor?

What brand of battery conductance testor do you own? Where did you get it? Do you like it?

Thinking of getting one, many to pick from.

The best cheap tester we have found is a load /voltage checker from harbor freight. About 20 bucks on sale and if you leave them on the fender and run over them haven,t broke the bank. Have one in each shop and service truck.

A battery conductance tester is not the same as a load tester. Already have a HF load tester.

I have read up a little on the conductance testers and would sure like to have one but it is not going to happen. I do have the carbon pile load tester. Just so happens it is the one that was in the shop when I went to work there in 1958. I tested a lot of batteries and cranking systems with it over the next 40 years. After I left they threw it out because some one had abused it and no one understood how to use it anyway. Friend of mine salvaged it and I ended up with it.

I've researched on the internet looking at what Napa, Auto Zone, O'Riely's, Advance, many other places and Midtronics would come up. A few other off brands. Looking closer at Midtronics, I found they had been around for years and had many generations of improvements.

Didn't think I've been good enough for Santa to bring me one, so I ordered one, a PBT300. A carbon load can't do what a conductance tester can.

I such as much expected you were asking for something else. Guess I need to get with the program. Merry Christmas .... and you are thinking right more batteries are junked because folks do not know or have the equipment to test them.
