Battery question

I am trying to help a neighbor with their 706D with the 310 German diesel engine. The husband died 6 years ago and I try to start the tractor
a couple times a year. I am done messing with the 3EE batteries. My question is would a single BCI group 31T 950 CCA battery be enough for
this tractor? It would not be used for any cold weather starts. Thanks in advance for your thoughts.

A single group 31 is more than adequet.I have 31 in my 706german. Plus my 826 and 1456. Never an issue. Satrts as good, even in freezeing temps. When the 1256 batters fail,it is getting a single31 as well. Only 'drawback'(if you call it that) is a battery hanging off the framerail rather than being tucked out of the way below the fuel tank.

Thankyou DeltaRed. A single 31 with some new cables works for me! The tractor is a bit shabby condition wise, so looks are not a top priority. Thanks again.

We have 806,856,1466,and 4166 all starting on a single 31 some in winter and some not. This is in mid MI. I take a plate and put right on top of the old tray for the 3EH battery on the right side with a lip so it don't slide out and fits nice in there only sticks out about a 2-3 inches and doesn't have to hang on the side of the frame rail. I use one of the starter bolts for the ground and obviously where the other goes.

Not sure about the dimensions , suggest looking at marine deep cycle ,they are reasonable this time of year (season ) .
I had a group 27 rv/marine battery in the 560 Diesel for 7 years . I put a solar charger on it to keep it up year around . No hesitation just a thought to think about .
