Got a MF 30B tractor with Perkins 3.152 diesel. The battery is getting kinda weak in the cold weather, so I want to replace it. The old battery has no group size marking on it, and anyways it's likely not the "right" size; there's enough room for up to a 3 inch longer battery.
The funny thing is, the manual specifies a 95 amp hour battery, but amp hours are really more relevant to deep cycle RV and marine applications, not engine cranking applications. I'm wondering if Perkins has a more up-to-date spec on how many CCA this engine requires?
