Be careful be careful

Can't be too careful on the highway. Last evening a UPS truck
hit a tractor pulling a rake East of Muscatine, IA. They air lifted
the operator to IA City hospital. Haven't any updates on his
condition yet.
We live on the hiway, & you see the craziest stuff going on out
there. So double check conditions & be able to take evasive
measures.

I dont road equipment and more but I do ride the standard and ebikes on roads. I pile on the strobes both front and back. I believe the flashing lites are more attention getting than any stationary display.

We're on a state highway and there is not end to the crazy stupid things we see drivers doing. Its getting so we are very cautious just going to the mailbox. And I time mowing of the ditch to late in the day after the traffic is less. Slight curve just south of us where 2 people have died since we have been here.

You can't fix stupid drivers.
I wish all cars had cameras and cops would use cameras to give stupid people tickets.

Yesterday while driving through town, I had a brown minivan tailgate me, riding my bumper.
I decided to use my speed control and set it to the speed limit.
At the edge of town is our new county jail.
The minivan turned off at the jail.
The brown minivan was a cop car. Grrrrr
Can't fix stupid drivers.
Yes be careful.

Years ago I was driving home from a friend's house, it was in November so it was getting dark early. I'm driving down the road ,its pitch black and up ahead I thought I could see some faint light . Suddenly I hit the brakes and slowed down. Some local dumazz was hauling a trailer load of hay bales and not one single light on the back of the low boy trailer and the load was wide enough he couldn't see anything closer than 100 yards behind him. The faint light I saw was the light from his headlight lighting up the ditches and he was doing about 30 mph.

Problem is there are no consequences these days for recklessness. Insurance points? What a joke....they just reduce their insurance limits to offset the increased insurance rates or they drop insurance altogether and then your uninsured motorist has to pick up the tab. Sue them? Most don't have squat so nothing to sue them for. There is no teeth in the system.

East of Muscatine as in Iowa or Illinois? I'm 5 miles across the river from Muscatine, I was at Manchester at the WMT Tractorcade and didn't hear about it.

Today I was at daughter house helping set up for grandson grad party on Sat. She orders Jimmie-jons. Stupid delivery kid pulls up in front her house and parks on wrong side of street. Runs in with sandwiches, she pays him and he runs back to his s--tbox car. Makes a wrong way u-turn right into side of passing car.

Im in south Alabama and you have described my behavior about roadways exactly....and no hope it will ever get better

When I was in my twenties I had dropped my girlfriend off and was heading home when a car came up behind me and tailgated so close I thought they were going to hit me when I slowed for a turn. However I obeyed all laws. It was a trooper and he pulled me over just before home. (I was driving a Camaro) I said right away I had not been drinking and he said I wasn't acting like it(then why pull me over). License, insurance, registration. He had nothing and let me go. Probably thought a quick DWI. He was really pushing me for about three miles probably waiting for me to make a mistake.

Super99----Just East of Farm & fleet in Iowa on 61.
I guess the tractor rolled & the top of the cab was flush with
the steering wheel. Never did see a write-up or news flash
on the accident.

Should have slowed down and signaled and turned into something, then they could go on down the road?
Just an idea. GG
