Looks like it could be a dairy farm. They are usually VERY HARD on equipment. At least many in Ohio are.

Stuff was on craigslist a couple weeks ago. Looks like they couldn't sell it there.

I'm guessing its the junk stuff and all the nice stuff was sold previously. A local outfit did just that on the way out. New JD tractor went back, an open station old tractor shows up. Discbine gone, old haybine shows up. Bit by bit downgraded but must have taken a beating on the prices.

Eventually the water frontage was sold for camp lots, the old farmhouse subdivided off and sold, last thing the guy had was an old cavalier car. He burned it in the middle of the church parking lot while taking a bath... in the next door neighbours bath tub... while high on cocaine.

Was at a forced auction last year and the equipment looked about that bad. Only thing that looked good was a skid steer with a bad injector pump. When you over extend yourself one of the first things to suffer is maintenance. I've seen it more than once. One auction that was kinda funny the deceased guy had been known for not taking very good care of his equipment. Some lucky guy got a 1086 IH in nice condition that the PO had bought just before he passed. He paid 8500 for it with Nice tin, good paint, Cab A/H, front weights, hub duals (about 50%) and decent rear rubber (about 80%). The other tractors were about ready for scrap.

Not my dad. He was a dairy farmer and was a real stickler for taking care of equipment. Usually in the shed at the end of the day. Well maintained. Brother still running the first and only new tractor my dad bought new and most of the other equipment my dad had.

I've seen many farms come across a bit of hard luck, and not be able to afford to fix/maintain their equipment. They keep trying until the last tractor breaks down, then they have an auction.

Looks like the guy bought worn out equipment and ran it until it wasn't worth repairing anymore.

Big dairy here couldn't find a nearly new bobcat. Thought it had been stolen. Emptied the manure lagoon in the spring and found the bobcat. South of the border workers forgot to set the brakes and it rolled into the pit. Afraid to tell anyone. Manure about destroyed it!!

Looks like an old competitor of mine. Went to meet hiom once on his jobsite at 9:30 in the morning. He had 5 machin es on the job and 3 semis waiting. They were still trying to get 2 machines running. Took some time 'cause only one of the five had a battery!!

I've been around a few dairies and they do use equipment pretty hard since a lot of it gets used every day. The successful ones don't destroy it like that stuff has been.

See it all the time here! I bought my baler at an
auction, every shield was missing, pto shield was/still is missing, tongue was broken, but welded back together,, along with numerous other problems! I mean you don't work on the knotters with a sledge hammer! Lol, somebody really abused it, but at least I picked it up cheap and was able to fix it.

Auctions like this with a high buyers premium keep the old guys with money out of it.

Ah its all one careful lady owner, they just forgot to say about the other 99 idiots after lol.

I see loads of stuff like this around big feedlots and farms where the drivers don't care. some is small farmers to though they look after the cattle better than the yard, house, or equipment. Some of it's not that old either.

I looked at a used tractor the other day on a farm to be honest I would not buy a used dollar from the guy for a nickle. it would not be any good even as scrap looking at his stuff.

The sad thing is I worked for a guy that hired in a 5 year old JD, it came to us straight from trade in not through the dealer shop first. it was beat to death, not a light or straight panel on it, the dog or big rats had eaten the cab interior, and it was covered in oil and dirt.
I saw it 4 weeks later on the dealer lot $120.000 plus and you could not even tell it was the same pile a junk. The salesman commented to me about it being the tractor we hired.
so be where what reputable brand dealers sell too sometimes.
This would not be the first time I've seen this. I worked dealer shops before sorting this junk so they could sell it!.
