while I'm thinking about the 671, and still staying in the super duper cheap price saver ( beater ) range. I see a 960 NF and a ag chassie 2000 4 cyl ( all gassers ) within driving distance.

hummm.. what do I need more a 2000 ag model ( a la new 641 ) or another trike.. this one with a live clutch and *possible* working power steering...

hummm....

you know me.. they are all gassers.

thouhg i do know where a 4000 3 cyl diesel is with orchard fenders asking 2500 obo.. that one was awfull tempting.. :)

I'd go for the 960, but since you already have a pair of 9xx (950 and 951?), I think the 2000 would be the 'more needed'. The 4-cyl. 2/4000 is one of the few series I haven't owned yet.

Wish I could find a "super duper cheap price saver ( beater ) range" 960 near me (IA) I had one once, sold it, which I had it back.

"hummm.. what do I need more"...

With all your tractors?

Are you sure 'NEED' is the right word? ;-)

Dang, you do beat all...

Doug

Reasonable speculative question. Why be negative? Of course need is relative, but we are on an antique tractor board because we enjoy tractors and there is no limit. From what I have seen, he does a good job fixing them up where others have run them down. Why be critical?

Jason

Jason,

Nothing critical intended, so don't take it that way. I think we all know what a good job he does on his herd. And...he works them hard, so there is definite 'need'. Can't figure out how he ever gets any sleep :-)

We're on this list to share information and experiences. Most of us will never have as much equipment as we'd like, so we enjoy hearing about what others have.

So chill man, nothing wrong with a little teasing from time to time. Me, I'm predicting Soundguy will have an auction someday the likes of the Palmer Fossum sale.

Doug

Good response. I took your post the wrong way. I'll see you at the auction as I would like to get one of his fully hydraulic one arm loaders. heh heh

I was thinking that myself.

I have a 950 and 951, and a 4000 wide front row crop. that pretty much handles the 45hp row corp 'need'

i have no 2000 at all.

I have a 660 if I really need live pto on something.

I calle dthe guy witht he 2000 again and have negotiated a very resonable price, and amd darn tempted to drive down tomorrow and get it to get me a summer project to work on.

A summer project? For you? As in "It'll take the rest of the summer to fix it up"? After seeing some of your previous projects, I'll wager that If you pick it up tomorrow and fix it up, you'll be done and still have the end of July and all of August left of the summer!

may drag this one out.. May have to! :)

took me long enough to find a cheap on for my limited budget this year.

once exhausting that.. I'll only really be able to work on it as I get spare money.

sure.. most of the wrenching and elbow work I can front load.. like sanding the metal and what not. but any oney repairs will be the holdup.

still will be a good distraction..

goal will be to get it done by the time it gets cold.. that way i can get it painted.. etc. meaning I have till novemeber.. which is more than enough time I should think.
