belly pump question

If i take out a belly pump and use it as a reservoir, will it leak out where the drive was, or how do u plug that??

You can leave the coupling that screws onto the pump which has a seal. Assuming the seal is good to start with you shouldn't have a leak. Just remove the drive shaft to it so its not turning all the time.

Sealing up the hole that results from removing the pump from the reservoir is not complex. An expandable plug can be used and a blanking plate made where the bolts go. About one quart is added by removing the pump. Jim

the kit from char lynn that had the live pump came with a block off plate for the belly pump. you took the pump off the resevoir, put the plate on and good to go. here is a picture of the block off plate. would be easy to make from some 3/16 or 1/4 inch steel
