Belt Size

does anyone know what size belt is used on a '48 8N. (Water pump, crankshaft and genorator. Don't have one to match up and compare and can find any thing in the FO-4 manual stating a size. I know its a 1/2 but x what is what i am missing. Can I just use a string and find it that way?

I just installed a Dayco Top Cog Gold Label 17450 (13A1145)from Advance Auto and it worked fine.

6v or 12v? It makes a difference. If it's 12v, it could be about any length, but chances are it will be 5/8's.

On the frontmount (which you have)the belt size is 5/8 x 45".

Sidemount, it's 5/8 by 41.5".

Both of my frontmounts have the 5/8's x 45 belts on them; the closest my neighbor could find was 46" & it worked on her 2N.
