??bent control arms on hyds???

How does the control arm from lift cover down to pump get bent.I have seen several bent to a slight curve & do not understand how this happens.So far have had luck getting them straight again,but know sooner or later one will Break?? TIA Wayne

Very possibly due to a mechanic that didn't want to pull the lift cover and fix it right.

POSSIBLY from severe abuse of the hitch system... some type of force that compresses the large draft-sensing spring quickly, and more than normal.

They get bent when the control valve sticks in the up position firmly. When the ram cylinder piston comes out too far from the cylinder and pushes on the big dowel pin that is supposed to retract the control valve and for what ever reason the valve does not come out into the neutral position that the piston pushing on the big dowel is supposed to do the control rod bends. The only thing that stops the ram cylinder from comeing completely out of the cylinder is the rocker makes contact with the lift housing and stops it.

That's how it gets bent.

For sure I understand the lift enough to know that IS one way, and that is a fact, there is no doubt in my mind.

I also know tractor mechanics that have told me their "secret".

Take a good hot torch, and make a small bend in the thing.

I would think that you could see, even years later where the torch had been used though, if you clean it, and look real good.

If a torch is used it will have a sharp bend in it. If the control valve has malfunctioned it will have a rainbow bend.
