Bent Radius Arms-Axle?

Im renovating a 1954 NAA. Both my radius arms are pretty severely bent. I assume this means my front axle is also bent. Can the front axle be straightened or must it be replaced?

One of the biggest contributors to bent radius arms is a front loader. Check the center pivot pin and bushing for wear
Bent radius arms are not a indicator of a bent axle but check everything while your working on the front axle

Just because the radius arms are bent does not mean the front axle is also bent. Remove the radius arms and
straighten them. I have seen many bent and the axle was fine. The radius arm is the weakest link on the front
axle assembly. Running the tire hard against something will bend the arms in the upward position.

Giving you nothing that the other posters haven't said, just third opinion based on personal experience. I second that bent radius arms does not mean a bent axle, they are pretty stout. Mine were bent and I straightened them. I also recommend you check the bolster and center pin. More than likely there is some damage there. The bolster on my tractor was bent, but I was able to straighten it. As was stated, most probably caused by a loader.

Thanks for the replies. I dont see any damage to my bolster, and the axle is free to rotate on the center pin. It does not, however, move front to back along the axis of the center pin. I couldnt spend much time with it today. Looking for a way to free it up. Its soaked in PB Blaster right now.
