thinking about converting to twelve volt on my C
is their one style or off a vehicle most prefer
to use which would fit the best

I always use the Delco 10si on all my conversions but yes it is a tight fit on a C due to the steering set up but it can be done. You want one made for a 1980 Chev pick up no power any thing no AC

My B is converted to 12 volt. Just take the generator to an electrical repair shop and they can convert it to 12 volt. Makes it look way better in my opinion than an alternator hanging off the side!

Hadley is right take the genny and the starter and have them both converted to 12 volts. Works a lot better, looks nice too.

i believe all 12 volt generator systems used a voltage regulator. THe light swith acts as a very simple current regulator. THe regulator will do a much better job. Look for a generator and voltage regulator off a 65 chevy pickup truck, or get your generator rebuilt and get the new regulator.
