Best Stop Leak

I have a 2000 Ford pickup with a 5.4 motor that is leaking antifreeze around the intake manifold. I know that someday I will have to pull the intake and replace the gasket. I thought about trying stop leak to see if I can plug it up until I get more time this summer to work on it. I have always used Bars Leak in radiators and wondering if it might work on a intake gasket, or does someone know something better that might work?

I've tried this with good results. It's been VERY popular in Europe for many years! Is actually carried and used by many of the Emergency Service vehicles out and about over there.

It's advertised as a "temporary" fix, but seems the vast majority of people have never had to re-do anything. Has the best reviews of any other related product that I could find.

They all have their values.

The trick is to read and follow the directions exactly.

Being the leak is below the liquid level of the coolant, it is a good candidate for a successful repair.

I had a 1989 F 150 that started leaking at the intake manifold and used Zecol Mendtite andI ran it six years before I got rid of it and it
never leaked.

I have had good luck with Bar's stop leak, I would certainly give it a try.

Here is new the bars/Leak, the best I have found, works for head gaskets and intake gaskets, Bar's Leak-- Professional "HEAD SEAL--Blown head gasket repair" Limited Lifetime Warranty. It says "one dosage stops all head gasket problems GUARANTEED.
Check it out at your local parts house. I've used it on a 1997 Chev Lumina with blown head gasket and it does work!!!

If it is like Chevys 5.7,the gaskets are missing good size pieces. The intake is way easier than head gaskets,which will be next if it overheats.

Try ceramic engine sealer instead of a radiator stop leak product.

KN Block seal. Remove stat, read directions. Use non-contact temp gun to determine op temp.

Price a heater core / radiator replacement and you might want to re think putting any kind of stop leak in there. Ruining your heating/cooling system to buy a little time gets very expensive.
