Biggest change

IH change from the F series to the letter series tractors.
My Dad would agree to IHC letter series. He went from F-12 to H. He said it changed farming more than anything, hyd's, easy steering, ergonomics. I always thought the F-20/30 to Farmall M was a bigger improvement. They just seemed so awkward.

I would say the 3020 replaced the 630 and the 4010 replaced the 730, with more HP of course. It took the 5010 to replace the 830.

Me personally. I worked for a guy that ran 2 820's, he replaced them with 2-1206's. Now that was a real improvement....James

Not as much a change but instead an addition of something revolutionary:
IH 2+2
Lots of people don’t like them, but my uncle had one and I really liked it. Was great on the grain cart. Somebody came along and offered him a profit so he sold it. Replaced it with a 8630 JD, I liked the 2+2 much better.

IH was just starting to gain sales with the 2+2 when they went broke. When Case took over they didn’t want it competing with their 4x4 lineup so they axed it.

In 1970 J.I. Case replaced the 30 series tractors with the 70 series with integral cabs rather than add-on cabs, power shift transmissions and direct injection diesel engines. That set the cab tractor market on it's ear for a few years.
That was in 69

Massey Harris to Massey Ferguson.....not much the same from the triple number series to the MF 50, 65, 85, Super 90. They were all products of Massey .Harris Ferguson.
