That would be one of the better brands. As long as you do not try to make it do more than it can. Just remember about a thousand of that will be starting power. Then it will settle down to running power. Another good point it has a brand name. Too many buy units that have no support.

Richard. Just playing the devils advocate what if in a true disaster you can not purchase gasoline for whatever reason. Say no generator at fuel station to provide electricity to power fuel pump at gasoline station. Do you have natural gas at your home. Should be cheaper as well as more assessable. Wingnut

There is natural gas on the highway, but running a line to our house would cost a fortune.
There are drawbacks to every fuel.

Even the cheapest , no name brand equivalent of such a generator here in Australia will cost close to four times that .
No support , no manual , no spares availability and no one prepared to try fix it when it breaks .

The variety of equipment and the low cost in the U.S. is something to be envied .

Cant speak to the electrical end of it, but I have a 7 hp Duromax engine running a hydraulic pump on a trailer. The only issue I have had is a melted starter that was my fault. Purchased a replacement from the web that fit just right. Engine starts and runs without issue when I need it.

Conventional thinking Is that natural gas is the most dependable fuel for a generator. But that is not necessary true. Being a contractor I the telecommunication business, I know that telecommunication companies have backup generators. I also know they use various fuels in different locations. One of the companies I work for was in a flood zone with many houses under water. However the communication hut was well above the flood water line. For safety reasons the gas company turned off the natural gas in the flooded area which included the communications hut. They were forced to rapidly convert their generators to an alternate fuel.

Billy Shafer im not trying to thread jump here, but if i recall correctly, you dont seem to care much for the generac stuff, do you have an opinion on the kolher or briggs and strattons, in the 20+kW range for whole house back up? I have seen the kolhers for awhile, but recently discovered the briggs and strattons.

would like your thoughts and invite anybody to chime in here, thank you

The reason I hate Genajunk. Is there lack of support. And the way
they treat the ones trying to fix their unit. They had at one time a
25kw. It would outdo any one's unit in that class.

Kohler has been around since 1920. Like all the rest they have had
their flops. But overall some good units

Briggs has been around also for years. But I would be careful with
them. The last I heard they were having trouble also.

But I have fun playing with them. Me myself and I talk to them. Hey
you does when he is home. Not to worry I have caller ID. If I don't
know the number. I don't answer the phone. But they are so much fun

Hey, if that's how you get your kicks then have at it.

My point was about all the complaints I see on here about those calls but yet people will post their phone numbers and email addresses here for anyone including spam bots to see.

It's quite funny actually.

I agree with you 100%. That is why I have caller ID. I am amazed at
people that answer these calls. I work with generators mostly Onan
units. But I help with all. But get caller ID it will help.
