binders

T-rail duel binders, was putting them back on and sheared the pivot pin, can I drill it out and put a bolt in... will the bolt holed looks like a rivet in there now

Funny how different words, can invoke a very different image in the minds of a reader. When I read you subject title: binders , I right away though of a machine used to cut grain and make sheaves. A grain binder. I understand your use of the term, just not what came to my mind.

A DOT walkaround might find complaint, If it was a black oxide grade 8 and the nut was tack welded, it would work for me. I would not enlarge the hole much. Jim

Well that is my pet peeve with the english language. Many many words spelled the same meaning different things and words spelled differently and pronounced the same. I think old Danial Webster had a few too many Jack Daniels--------------Loren
PS I do know what T rail binders are, and have seen the rivets replaced with bolts. I doubt that the rivets were harder than a grade 5 bolt, and those can bend the T rail if if the binder is adjusted too tight. The spacer band drives the dual wheel. The binders just hold it in place.

It's because IHC got started with grain binders.

They're called dual CLAMPS, yes you can use a bolt, and the DOT isn't going to say anything because they're on a tractor in a field.

Any bolt is going to be stronger than the soft rivet.
