Bittersweet day

Today is the first anniversary of Susan's death. It is also my 68th birthday.
Happy Birthday, Red, anyhow. It makes it harder when a joyous occasion? is transposed over something as devastating as losing your partner. I'd suggest that you celebrate your birthday, ignore the anniversary of her passing, and celebrate a date more reminiscent of your good times together, like your wedding anniversary, or her birthdate. Push the date of her passing out of your mind. But, the event has to still be raw after only a year. I know I'd be a blubbering idiot about now, if I were in your shoes. steve

Sorry for your loss. Happy Birthday. I pray you can enjoy YOUR day a little bit and it becomes less painful each year....James

Happy birthday!! I didn't realize that Susan passed on your birthday, really puts a damper on things! Hang in there, still pray for you every day. Chris

Happy Birthday, and our best wishes for you to cherish the good things in your past years, and enjoy your life ahead.
