Blackhawk tools

Are Blackhawk tools still made? And are they still owned by Proto which in turn is owned by Stanley? I see on Ebay that there are some sold as new and some used which have the satin finish on them like some I have had for years now. I have been needing to expand my Metric sets some with this last combine now so it means adding some to the line. I already had a few from back in my Harvest crew days 30 years ago. Now I'm wanting to just expand some of the ones I don't have in these tool lines since I have some now. Some of the SAE sockets will fit though not always well and go both ways will get things apart and back together again if not terribly tight. I have some 3/8 snap-on sockets and box end wrenches with pretty big offsets at the ends .Also the Blackhawk combination wrenches all of these are in metric sizes for now. No I don't need metric hammers nor adjustable wrenches standard will work just fine for those models. LOL

I don’t know if they are still made or not you can find a few online Amazon and a few other places. You might want to rethink the metric hammer what are you supposed to do with a German tractor? Buy an old caterpillar instead I suppose sounds better to me!

I like the metric hammer and the old caterpillar. I just thought I see them on line with a polished chrome finish. The ones I have are a satin finish according to the information I get. The polished finish are a newer style I believe.

The set of ratchet wrenches on Amazon certainly looked polished to me I dont know do you want full polish going forward or normal is what I call it I suppose unpolished or satin is the right name. The snap in ones in full polish 15 years after I bought them still look mostly how they did. The craftsman ones I bought at about the same time discolor a little and might rust a little more but function the same

They had a plant in my home town back in the 80's most of their hand tools were not for a professional more for DIY use, they also made Craftsman tools. When the plant shut down they sold off their inventory for 50 cents a pound. I wouldn't go out of my way for their hand tools.

MSC tools were the last place I saw any listed, all my tools from 1:4 to 1 inch all Blackhawk, now I have been buying grey prematic , all impact grade the parts store carries . I have some gear wrench but they are sometimes to light duty. Good luck

Used to be sold at our NAPA but haven't seen them for a long time. NAPA now has Carlyle and I think maybe some Evercraft.

Same here. I have some here and most are specialty tools but they are 40/50 years old. Good wrench back in the day.
