blade collectability

Hi,
Just wondered about collectability value of a Case 3-pt blade. It"s got a ding in the mowboard and adjusts far pitch by hooking to different holes on the hitch.

Not at all collectable (<:, how much do you you want for it and where are you located? I really don't know if its collectable or not, but I would like to have one due to sentimental reasons and I like the design.

Got photos? I am assumimng this is probably a Case contract Danuser blade. What is the length of the blader? Six foot was standard but you could get an 8 foot also. Some parts for it are hard to find.

I disagree Jim on collectabilty or why do you want it??? JUST kidding hey I have two of them and they look GREAT on my Case tractors one is standard 6' one has side plates and scareafire (ripper teeth can't spell sorry)sold this one new and traded back from original owner they are also very good blades my two cents Tom

I would like to collect one, meaning gather one up just because of it being a Case, and I need a blade for my 830, and nothing better than a Case on a Case just being sentimental. I keep watching for one.

Tom, obviously my comment was tongue-in-cheek. To a Case collector any Case product is collectable. In my humble opionion the Danuser design blade is one of the finest all mechanical back blades ever built. While I have a Danuser blade for the Ferguson type 3pt I have adapted it to work with the eagle hitch by building bolt on, box type lift points for the arms and adding extension bars for the top link. It works well and I am pretty happy with it but my one position adapters don't have the versatility that the Case contract blade had with the Case multi angle lift boxes to add to the side angle you could get while letting the adjustable lift link be your fine tune.

I have been looking for a Case blade I can affordably justify based on pricing and shipping.

I am curious about your side extensions which I guess provides "box blade" type operation AND allows you to reverse your box blade which standard box blades do not provide. Could you post or send me photos of your blade?

630crazy has a Danuser/Case blade that sounds a lot like yours and I have photos of it but I am trying to get ideas to be able to design and build box blade conversion ends for my moldboard.

Jim I will do what I can on a photo or two my comput is not fast enough for my camera but if nothing else I will get some copy's made and mail to you if you like, the side plates would also flip up so as to allow using it like a regular blade and those scraiffier teeth really come in handy and I agree with you on the quality of product they are the only blade I know of with Timkin tapered brgs in the pivot for angling

Tom, right after I got my blade I contacted Danuser to see if I could get a parts list. The Danuser grandson now running the company personally called me to discuss what I had to ascertain which model list to send.

He was very interested in my past experience with their blade and also told me that some parts are still available through Danuser other than common vendor items like bearings, seals and the like. The most commonly missing or broken parts I think are the top cap over the bearings, the adjustment rocker piece and the adjustment handle. Of these I don't know what is still available, I never thought to ask as my blade was complete when I got it but if you need parts, look them up in Google and give them a call. Everybody I talked to there or corresponded with are real good folks. They reminded me of the way things used to be back in the 50s and early 60s.

That is what impresses me so much with so many folks that monitor this site and the folks I have corresponded with, dealt with and purchased from (Jim, Shaun, Joe, John, Don L., Thad, Mel/Denny.....). I am glad I chose a Case to restore. Mostly it was for nostalgic reasons in the beginning, but I have made so many new email friends because of it. One of these days when time and money allows I hope to get by to see some of my email pals equipment, couple of them are day trip distance from where my son and his wife live now near Tulsa so I hope to do a father/son day trip to see a these guys sometime.

BTW don't jump through any hoops for photos, but if you make hard copies email me for my address.

Jim
