Block boring - JD A

I am rebuilding my grandpa's 1948 JD A and the cylinder block is rust pitted. I am looking for a source who can bore the A3462R cylinder block, preferably in North Dakota. Also may be interested in a usable used block/pistons.

I had my A block done by NAPA in Cape Girardeau Mo.
It is only 60 miles from me.
Check with your nearest NAPA and see where their nearest machine shop is.

I had my G block bored, and dry sleeved, then bored to .125 over, in Sioux Falls quite a number of years ago, but I don't remember the name of the place.

All the rust pits do not have to be machined out . Bore just enough to get rid of the taper and egg shape.

If the top surface of the block is still in good shape I'd try and find a place that can do the boring without removing the studs ! I had some shops ruin a block removing the studs.
I found a place that does semi truck engines that has large enough equipment to bore them.

When & where I bored them , we bolted a plate to the bottom to set the bar on. No need to remove the studs.

You still have to go to the size of the pistons. .045, .090, or .125.
