Block Heater Control

(quoted from post at 07:48:03 01/05/15) Any of you guys have any experience using the Thermo Cube to control your Block heaters? I want my Tractors ready to go anytime but don't want the heater on when it doesn't need to be.

Thanks, Joe

I don't know where you are located but here in our area the heater would be on almost all the time during the winter months at below 35.

Why don't you get a timer and set it to heat for a couple hours before you normally use it. If you are not using it daily you could plug in the nite before.

I agree, 35° is way to warm to plug anything in.
My 400s and 830 diesels readily start until it's in the
teens. If you use a timer be SURE it can handle the
current. Most plastic hardware ones for house
lamps will not work. There are a couple on the
market that are industrial in nature and work well.
It's what I use use in West Central MN. -17 this
AM.

I agree with mEl, get a timer if you are worried about it, I keep 1-3 plugged all winter, costs maybe 10 bucks a month extra well worth having them ready to go when I need them
cnt

Joseph, I have used a couple of thermo cubes for many years, one that comes on at 32 deg and one that comes on at zero deg. 32 deg one for water heater for animals, zero deg for block heater on diesel pickup. never a problem with them.
