BLOWING SMOKE

I have a John Deere 175 garden tractor with a 14 hp Kawasaki engine. I started blowing smoke. Alot at start up, tapers off and then is constant. My compression is 100. Can anyone tell me what it should be and where to begin looking for trouble?

if its black smoke ,be sure choke is opening and air cleaner not clogged..

Is it engine oil smoke or black smoke.

It is blue smoke
