blowing snow with a 15hp snapper.

this has to be one of the best snow blowers i ever bought, encourage those who are in need of a new blower go out & order one, also a good tractor mounted one, a Pronovost, good heavy guage steel & goes thoth 4-5 ft dritf with ease.!!

5 foot drift with 15 hp? I guess I should enjoy the laugh, since we like to cut and blow more than 15 inches wide at a time, especially if the snow is more than 4 inches deep. Somehow, I don"t think it will cut it where I live. 7 foot wide blower on 80+ hp is more like it, no matter the depth.

I know what you mean JMS. Last week I brought 170HP to it's knees with a 8' blower.

Now I think the pto clutches in the tractor are starting to slip after 22 hours of blowing last week.

hey, I'm just a little guy doing his best in this winter, sometimes can't get the tractor started, so while its pluged in warming up, i go out & start around the house & barn with the walk behind blower, get up close with it, & blow out to the road(20ft) with the snapper, tough machine! The pronovost i have on my 1080, works real well, belive its about 72 inches, the tractor in low reverse barly even struglles with it.

The variety of people on this site is amazing, so try not to take offense at someone commenting on your equipment. I only have a 7 hp Ariens snowblower and my 1982 Chevy plow truck is junk, and the tractor with a loader that I use to push back my snowbanks is only 50 hp, and it's 43 years old, and there's no cab, heat or even a canopy. But they all beat the "you know what" out of shoveling!

Same Boat, here..and Love it..!!!

At least, I never have to clean the cab Windows...!!!

Cols enough and I get the "Dr Death" Motorcycle helmet out with full face-shield..!!

have done that in some storms, fully dressed out in avaion wear for unpreasurized plane, stuff from ww2, the shealing leathers pants, coat, cap 7 mitts, & heavy boots, jsut to stay warm in a 0 deg wind blowing in a storm, this gear is also handy out on the ski-doo, out in the bush, rememer this winter to ski-doo carefully especally on lakes, at crossings & on trails, have an elan, from way back that does yeoman service, any of you own & use the old Olympics!!!

My snow blower is an Areins 1032 (10 HP 32"). I bought it back in October as a trade in from the local hardware store. I was gonna buy a newer but smaller areins model they had out front, but it was sold before I got there. I asked if they had any other trade in models and they showed me this one. The service manager guessed it to be about 10 years old. Hadn't been in the shop yet so it needed a new scraper and an oil change.

I bought it for what they gave in trade ($550) and it also came with a weather encloser to mount on it. I see the same model on craigslist advertised for $1200. I also see the same exact one painted in green & yellow with the jumping deer on it for $1500.

is that a skirool, with the side car, never saw one of them, remember the Huskey, the tractor up front & the sled behind, or the hassey freguson ( ski wizz)

my mistake its is an old Bombardier olympic! congradulations on having on in service, my neighbour nera here has two, have the original pancake engine, hard starters, pull start, my elan is a single cyl, pull start, 7 basic, slow on the trails, watch out for powder snow, you'll bog down, easily!!!
