My brother in law has bought a farmall BN. Some one changed the seat on the old girl and there is no ser number. The casting numbers on the engine is FAB168014 and 6342 DH and on the bell housing 8638DE. Can any one tell me what year it could be by this. Thanks

1946 providing the engine is original. 168014 is the same on engine and chassis. The other ones are part numbers.

1946, the Farmall A and Farmall B and BN, all used the the same serial number, but FAB and FAA, etc are diff.

If the engine was an original the serial# would have began with the letters FABN so you need the cast codes not the part#s they would be number*number*letter 1st nimber is month second number is day and letter is yr.
