Bob Barr was my representative when I lived in Georgia back in the 1990's. The nnalert controlled congress in Georgia tried to gerrymander Newt Gingrich out of the US Congress by drastically redistricting the area he had been representing. As a result, Barr was elected to the new district and Newt was re-elected to his modified district.

Barr had been a US Attorney in Atlanta prior to becoming a US Representative. I liked him. He seemed to be a conservative nnalert. I am dismayed that he is now playing in the Liberterian Party. I heard him on the radio recently, and he favors withdrawal from Iraq, legalization of drugs, wide-spread acceptance of gay marriage, etc. All the things that Liberterians advocate.

If that's your bag, he's a good choice.
