boost pressure

What is the safe boost pressure to continuously run on a stock 188d? I have a 570 that I turboed and running about 5psi of boost. I would like to bump it up to 10psi. I would like to get everyones opinion.

I dont see why not. ACG runs 8psi on his 430.

I was planning one running 8 or more on my 630 when I get it back together and turbo'd. Do you have any pics of you setup?

Personally I don't think 10 lbs is any problem. I ran a turbo on a 730 and did not have any problems at lower boost. When we later pulled it and turned the RPM's to almost 200% and changed boost to 50+ we had to have a steel ring and solid copper head gaskets to keep #1 piston from blowing gasket out the front of the head into the radiator.

With 5 psi you have effectively made it into a 250cube engine, and have that cool turbo noise. What are you trying to make it prove? do you have enough clutch or rear end to support that much engine.

I wastegated my 770 to 10 PSI, but the only time I ever see that kind of pressure is on the road pulling a hill.

I will take a few ASAP. I"m using the manifolds from a case dozer with the turbo 207ci. I ran my return into the side of the valve cover like ACG did.
