this bracket is on a 8n that i aquired, is this a ford option or just something that someone added

Looks like a common grease gun holder from a hwd store.

Roy.......greese gun or fire extinguisher holder. Many rolling disc harrows used WOODEN bearings and were liberally lubed with greese to keep from sanding the wooden bearing. There were NO effective seals so flushing with greese was the only option. ........the greesy Dell
