Brake Adjuster

I am attempting to adjust my brakes on my 70 Diesel, and as to be expected the left brake adjuster won't budge. Any thoughts on what would be the best way of breaking it loose?

Most times you need to take them apart and heat them, and clean all the parts up..be gentle with the pins that go against the adjuster screw, they are pricey, you will be tempted to put a screw driver in the slotted end to free them,,and they break off at the end...

Tim is right about those pins.
They are usually the problem.
I've seen screws that would move a little
but couldn't turn because those pins were frozen.

Wayne, if heat won't make the adjuster budge I have had luck (in a last resort situation) of drilling a small hole crossways to the adjuster to allow some penetrating oil to work in. It usually brings them loose. Fill the hole later and all will be well. Use never-seize when you put it back together. Mike
