And things were going so well. With an abundance of help from YT, really got my mew to me Jubilee humming. But pedal goes about all the way down before engaging. What is the prognosis? How should I proceed? Are these adjustable, like you could use a wrench to adjust the brakes at one time. My wheels are loaded with liquid. Do I need professional help, or could I muddle through with YT help? Thanks.

Just like drum brake adjusters you had on your truck minus the self adjuster lever that contacts the star. They use the same adjuster for both sides so you need to look through the adjusting slot in the fender to see which way to turn it to get expansion since you "can" install them in either direction.

I just did brake job on my Ford 850. There is a very nice removal and install tutorial that is a permanent sticky in the Big Tractors by Brand Ford section of the external_link website. You might want to look at that.

As to adjustments...jack up the rear end and turn tires by hand...tighten star adjuster until you start to feel/hear a slight drag then back off a click or two. If it were me though, I would pull the wheel and drum to inspect the brakes. You could have a leaking seal that needs replaced (like I did) or worn out brake shoes. Brake job is pretty easy. $60ish in parts. I completed it in under 2 hours, and I had never done one before.
