Sorry, I keep forgetting to post year/model. Early 48 8N. Mfg. '47. Guess I'm just gettin' old... forget what I'm doin' while I'm doin' it. By the way, how do I tell the upper from the lower brake shoes. PO installed new brakes, but both shoes look the same to me. Happy Trails, God Bless. John
 
I think we may have some of the same problems.

Try this, pull all of your brake shoes out of the box.

Look very closely at them all, are they all the same?

If so, no problem.

If there are 2 that are alike, and 2 that are different, let me know!!

I don't think there will be, but I can be wrong....
 
They are on the tractor and I only have one wheel off but I will be removing the other next weekend. Thanks for the get back. John
 
8N shoes are all the same,,, but they only go on one way correctly,,, a front and back side to'em,,,,,,, don't ask me whats the front are back ,,, I have to test fit to see myself
