Breather Element

I need the breather element for the push rod side plate breather part number 50 975 D. I have not been able to locate a new one. Does anyone know what the element was made of and what can be used if a new element cannot be purchased.

You can still get them through CNH. On Messicks site they list them for 13 bucks. Just search farmall M under parts for Case IH. You could just use some heavy steel wool too, that would do the job.
