Brillion Seeder for Pelletized Lime

I have a Brillion seeder I was going to use for applying Pelletized lime. I want to apply 200 pounds per acre according to soil test from local extension.

Can I use this seeder for that? If so what should I set the indicator setting to?

I have attached the seeding chart.

Theres no direct conversion from pounds of seeds per acre to pounds of pelletized lime per acre. You’re just going to have to experiment.
Are you sure the soil test suggested 200 lbs per acre? Around here at least, its usually closer to 2 tons per acre.

X2 what MJMJ said. First, you don't know what setting for the Brillion seeder will work. Worst case scenario is that the machine won't spread it at all properly or evenly. I would prefer to spread pelletized lime with a whirligig/Vicon spreader. It saves time. Second, you'd better read the soil test yourself and determine the average PH of the soil and base your application on what you intend to grow. Some crops like 4.5 PH and some require 6.5 to 7.5 PH to pick up nutirents. If your PH is 5.8 and you need 6.8, you're pixxing in the wind with 200 lb.s per acre. You gotta put down some heavy doses of lime in the measure of 2,000 to 3,000 lbs per acre. You are paying through the nose for pelletized lime. Check out wet lime for 1/2 the price.

The 8 foot Brillion I use to rent was messed up once when I went to pick it up. The guy before me had put granular fertilizer in either the fine seed box or the larger box and ran seed in the other, I don't recall which but it was half tore up. I needed the working half so they let me rent it to beat the rain before they repaired it. Pelletized lime would scare me if it where my Brillion.
Do you have a local co-op that can spread it?(Wet or dry) And if so do they have a agronomist that can help translate the soil test?
