...Briggs & Stratton 17.5 hp motor in a Troy Bilt mower. Mowed for @ 3 hours the other day and wouldn"t start up again after I stopped for lunch... checked 20 amp fuse, replaced starter solenoid, fuel solenoid, battery is fully charged and I even replaced the starter motor with a NEW spare that I"d bought earlier... best I can get is a very slight (hardly noticible) click from the fuel solenoid when the ignition key is turned to the "run" position...nothing more when it"s turned past that to the "start" position...jumped from battery directly to starter and it turns over but when key is used I get nothing... is there a safety breaker on this thing that I"m missing? I"ve found several and temporarily defeated them but it sure acts like I"ve missed one somwhere... any ideas..?

Check owners manual for a wiring diag,if no manual or no wiring diag in same, goto link below & click on troybilt logo, check tractor listings for your mod#,see if parts drawing list has and elect drawing(wiring diag)or goto mtd website and see if you can download an owners manual, you'll have to check ign sw,seat safety, manual mower engage safety or pto sw if electric clutch,clutch/brake safety & rev sw,parking brake sw,if tractor has either/both,you will need a vom or 12v test light to troubleshoot sw's.

...thanks, Joe... tried those links (where I got the replacement part #'s from) but there is very little about the electrical and I didn't see a link for a wiring diagram at all... only parts in the electrical system that I haven't replaced are the deck safety sw and the seat safety sw.... already ordered a new ignition sw... I do appreciate the help tho... thanks...

Try link below, click on yard machines logo, from left col select owners manual in customer service, have mod & ser#'s ready, see if you can download a owners manual, site used to have a seperate logo for troy-bilt,but not listed at site anymore. If you can't get anywhere with mtd site, try going to ebay & type troy bilt manual in search,go thru listings & see if any listed
