Building a tractor pulling track

Last Saturday afternoon I put over 25,000 gallons of water making the tractor pull track at the Racine County Fairgrounds. Come Sunday over 3 1/2 inches of rain had fallen.

Here in Pa, we put clay tracks down and chisel them deep and water them the AM of the pull, I guarantee that you won't see dust off of the track equipment on our tracks, even in a hot summer condition, even with sun our tracks hold their moisture most of the day, The sharper pullers know how to use the moisture to their advantage. Heavy clay separates the men from the boys tractor wise. Stock Vacs at 4000 lbs and SCs at 5000 will not spin their tires on our tracks. We also use 18 back and 20 high hitches in all but the farm stock classes.
