for fun do some reshearch, right after wwll ended willys, and other manufactures came out with several options for jeeps in a attempt to create a civillian market for the jeeps, soldiers on the battle fronts of wwll loved the jeep and put it to many optional uses as the situation demanded , one story is they turned one on its side, dragged it up the stairs to the second story of a building, removed the tire from one rear wheel, and set the jeep on blocks, and ran the exhaust outside, it was used to run a belt to power a mill , jeeps sold cheap as surplus after the war and were a cheap substitute for a tractor, they could be had with a pto belt pulley, a 3 point hitch, dual rear tires and other options , on building other trucks ect ask around first and see if anybody wants one, you'd hate to tie a bunch of money up in a build and nobody wants to buy it, i have built vehicles myself and you will tie up and bunch of money believe me , while i run older trucks and dont like new ones, most people are of the mind set that they must drive the latest and greatest diesel pickups, you need to remember to temper your taste in a build to something others will like too , unless your going to keep the vehicle for yourself, then the sky and your wallet is the limit, if you do a wild custom build you then are faced with finding somebody who also likes your tastes, and has a pocket full of money, and wants the vehicle you built, not an easy job! building something say like a 50's, or 60's pickup, boxing the frame adding a late front end with independant suspension and dual rear wheels, with a cummins diesel engine,maybe a splitter [ over/ under drive unit like gear vendors sells] on the transmission, for better pulling power, then put on a nice but tastefull paint job will apeal to several types of people , but mainly to blue hair type rv'ers .they will buy it because when sitting out the winter in the southern us around a evening campfire with their friends they will have the only one around, and they like that kind of thing, and these people, by that point in life have the money to buy the truck, just make sure the build is good and the truck is up to hauling say a 18,000 lb rv accross the country , just an idea
