Bulldog loader

I have a Bulldog 285 on my YM2000. After approx. 15-20 min the loader quits working. No up or down and no tilt on the bucket. I can turn off the tractor wait 15 seconds start tractor and the loader works. but it soon stops again. I was told it could be a collapse hydraulic hose on the sucker side. My question is where can I purchase a new hydraulic hose with this thread size? First thing I am draining the fluid, clean the screen and put in fresh fluid. But I need a plan B for the hose replacement.

Does the 3 point continue to lift after loader stops? If so suction hose would not be the problem. There is only a short section of hose that connects two metal pipes. #29 here. If 3 point also does not work I would suspect the strainer.

Thanks Winston. I will check next time it happens. I have the fluid, so game plan is to clean the screen and change the fluid anyway.

Morning, Well I have a follow up on this issue. Never a simple thing. LOL I changed out the hydraulic fluid. I took the screen out and cleaned it. I ran the tractor over the weekend using the front loader. Once again after 15-20 min of working the loader froze up. the bucket doesn't tilt nor does the loader go up or down. The phot shows the return line from the hydraulic control to the tractor. The return line does jerk when I move the controls. I am wondering if I replace this return line if it will solve my problem?

I am unsure how your loader is plumbed. More pictures maybe. You didn't answer my question whether the 3 point lift continues to work after loader quits.

Just got home from work. I took pics staring at the hydraulic control. Pic #3 shows #29 your hose. It is pretty cracked up. The hose which jerks goes up to under the set as shown in the last pic. Thank You Winston

May not be the problem , but I would check out the hose in question . Could be collapsed on the inside cutting off suction to the pump. Has your loader and 3 point ever worked without problems or has this been on going since you have owned the tractor? https://brandmparts.com/products/hh4150

I bought the tractor in Nov 2024. Been an issue ever since. Might be why it was sold. Since it doesn't happen until 15 minutes of running there was not a problem when I checked the tractor out. You are suggesting I replace #29 before I change out the hydraulic hose? By chance is this just a regular hose I cane get at Autozone or a special hose I need to order from Brandmparts? Thxs

Can't give you a good answer on hose size. pretty sure it will be metric. However, if you have some calipers you might measure the tube size. Might find hose at auto store that would work.

Right I forgot about metric size. I will order today. Once I change out I will let you know results. Thxs.

Not just high pressure hoses, but any hose used in an oil system, such as short pieces of hose in suction lines, needs to be oil service rated (not something like heater hose).

Evening all. I have an update. I ordered, received and put the new hose,#29, on today. Once again after 15 min of working both the 3-point and front loader quit working. Both the 3-point and the loader stay where they are, no movement. After waiting 10 min I tried putting both the 3-poiint and the front loader down. Nope. Once I start the tractor both the 3-point and loader will go down. Hmmm Am I back to changing out the suction loader hose that goes to hose #29? So I have changed out the fluid, cleaned the screen and changed out hose #29. No what? I am not a mechanic so I am relying on you guys for HELP. Thanks

Not sure. Is your loader plumbed like the one shown on Hoye illustration? Is the round handle stop valve between your legs wide open?

Yes Winston I believe the loader lines are running as illustrated. A line runs from the pump to the bottom of the control valve. Then there is 4 lines in a square for up/down and tilt. At the top on the valve is a line running to the tractor under the seat. Everything works great for approx. 15 min.
