BushHog chisel plow refurbish

New member here - any help appreciated - wish I could post a picture - not a restoration, just want it workable

I have an old 7 shank bush hog chisel plow with horizontal hook end springs that I want to put back in service. Some of the ends of the 3/4" studs that the spring ends hook over have rusted off so that the "shoulder" no longer hold the spring hook ends well.

The studs are partially threaded to jam nut either side of the shanks and the front/rear angle shank carriers.

Bush Hog wants $33 dealer cost each. There are 14 on this plow.

Can anyone suggest a substitute ? Would a grade 5 carriage bolt hold up? Thanks !

Since my post editing is turned off for now I'll just post another question relating to rebuilding this chisel plow ----

Does anyone know of a method for stretching these heavy springs to get the hook ends over the replacement posts. The springs are too strong for the old 'insert pennies between the coils' trick. A hydraulic tool costs about the same as a new plow. LOL
