Yup and then go get in a 3408 V8 Cat nothing rumbles like that with power to burn almost in them. Were easy to get way over the 450 HP they came down the line with. Drove one in a Pete they had to widen the frame a couple inches and the hood was straight not tapered like most of them to fit it under the hood. that one had air struts to lift the hood with you if you wanted it to. Liked that truck to drive just rumbled not roaring just the rumble. Sound all it's own. The newer Cats like the C-16 have eclipsed it with 600HP and would need to drive one to see if it was better than the old V-8 or not. I have a C-15 with 550And I don't see much if any difference in them for pull. Those old Double breasted Yamahas were all noise and no pull . We didn't call them old hill sniffers for nothing.
