I already cut my last cutting of hay for the year and I was wondering if a john deere 5200 around 45 horsepower will pull a new holland 488 9' mower conditionar its just the old sickle bar with a reel? thanks

we cut for many years with a 460 farmall, like a dream. You will have no power issues

I ran a 9' haybine with my 41 JD A and it handled it fine. It's still got low compression pistons, so about 29H.P. Should be OK.
