c-263 in 560

I bought a 560 that had recent engine and more recent head work done, nice well cared for original tractor. ..
I put a new set of autolite 386's in it, noticed old champion was fouled on # 5... Tractor runs great but noticed it smokes blue at idle or low rpm, run a compression check to make sure thats not a problem, #5 was actually 5#s higher than its neighbors. .
I noticed quite a bit of oil burning on the new plug on # 5 but 4 and 6 looked perfect, im thinking i have a bad valve seal or seals on #5, sorry for the novel, new plugs are only about 3-4weeks old...
pick apart my craziness guys

I would pull the valve cover and look at the seals (if any) there is good reason to use them and some shops dont because they were not original. If none are installed, Umbrellas can be installed without tear down. Ask. Jim

Haha, i was hoping to get your attention Jim,that'll be my next step, im kinda thinking a intake valve seal got boogered up, possibly a guide but ill start with cheap and painless first...
Love the sweet running 6 in the 560!!

Just to add another thing to check, make sure the block vent isn't plugged up with something.

Try draining your gas tank and put a tankful of 91 octane super high test in it and see what happens. My 656 with the same engine did a major recovery when I changed to 91 Octane(R+M)/2.

Update on the c 263... I pulled the valve cover and i do,in fact have valve seals on all valves, I went ahead and adjusted them to 0.30,but will go to 0.27 soon, i found 2 specs on valve lash, very confusing, still waiting on a book for the old girl..
Valves seemed close on most of them but a few needed brought closer..
I am getting a new exhaust and intake valve seal this weekend for the #5 hole..
