c engine block

Am I correct in thinking c blocks are 113 and super c blocks are 123
I'm in need of a block for a model c

A farmall c and super a share the 113 engine but can be upgraded to the 123 if you prefer.

Super C's came with the 123 block. Larger sleeve bore at the bottom.

As I understand it, mid-way through 1952, IH standardized on the 123 block for all A and C variants.

The difference between a C113 and C123 configuration after this point is which cylinder sleeves and pistons were installed. The block/head assembly itself was the same for both tractors.

If you rebuild a C113 tractor nowadays, virtually all replacement sleeves and pistons are the larger 123 bore. Aftermarket sellers even offer C123 bore pistons with the a different shoulder to fit the older C113-specific blocks, though I've no personal experience with that.

There were other changes as time went on as well, for example a cased-loop pressurized cooling system with a pump in lieu of a thermo-siphon cooling system.

Thanks I need a replacement 113 I rebuilt this one and now the outside of block is cracked but inerds are fine hopeing to reuse the piston sleves and whatnot

Well it so happens the ball was droped on it before winter draining water out
haddent put anti frreze in it cuz I was gonna change head and when we drained the
ones we drain every winter it was forgoten lesson learned water is for hit n
missmotors only ...

I hear ya. I run antifreeze in my SA for just this reason. Too paranoid not to!
