C losing power/quits

I've got a very early C which when it gets warm it loses power and finally quits. What should I be looking for? Had the carburetor cleaned up and such but it still does it. I've replaced the plugs and wires only because they needed it, though I figured they weren't the cause.

Don't know if this matters any but it's not stock- been converted to a more modern coil type ignition system; 12V with alternator.

What is the time frame on it doing that?? If about an hour then the coil maybe going bad if say 10-15 minutes maybe the ignition switch. either way as soon as it dies check for spark then go from there

Just remember the old saying that if your dead sure you have an electric problem it is probable a fuel problem. If your dead sure you have a fuel problem it is probably a electrical problem.

It just means don't let yourself get single minded. Check and recheck both until you get it solved.

Over the many years I have had very few electrical problems compaired to the fuel problems.

DOH- forgot to mention I replaced the coil too, though not the condenser. Will get another one of those and see if it helps.

15 minutes sounds about right. I can check the voltage at the distributor and see if it's still good plus I still have the old spark plugs so I can make a quick spark check.

I was having those same problems a couple years ago, my problem was the in the magneto, had it rebuilt then it ran like new, better than it had in years as a matter of fact.
