My 1949 FC doesn't have a water pump, likely has the 113 cu in engine, no live hydraulics, wide front, converted to 12v with single wire alternator, no fast hitch either. A very simple tractor. Runs and drives very good, starts up easily with no fuss. I added a Charlyn hydraulic pack to the belt pully drive just because I could, and it works very well. I use the tractor for fun, pulling a rake, and pulling a wagon.

Normally the Farmall C came with a 5 ft woods belly mower and used the flat pulley drive.
I found a 6 ft woods belly mower off a Farmall H which used a larger pulley on the PTO,
You would have a problem prying by Bosses hands off this tractor.
I asked her

if she wanted a new ZTR mower. A BIG NO!!!
She likes the Cadillacs ride the Monroe seat provides.

That's a very nice rig you've got. I want to put a mower of some kind on my C, so far no luck finding anything suitable. In my opinion they are a wonderful tractor, nice ride too. If I had a boss anymore, I'm sure she would insist on getting a mower for it. Sure beats the Craftsman lawn tractor I once had. Must be some belts in that box on the back of your tractor, is that a factory option?

It doesn't take any special talent or access to secret information to figure this stuff out, so if you're interested in being able to do your own research, you can.

Normally I would recommend the "Research" menu on this site for serial number information, but it seems that in the migration to the new system in late 2023, the serial numbers got disorganized and some information went missing. Conveniently enough, it appears the Farmall C information is missing.

My go-to is tractordata DOT com. 10 years ago it wasn't the most complete or accurate but they've really done a lot to polish the site. You pull up the serial number list, and read down to find the first number that's HIGHER than yours. Move back one year on the list. That is the year of your tractor. In your case the 1950 number FC47010 is the first number higher than FC35470. Move back one year, 1949.

C Serial Numbers

1949FC22624

About 15 years ago I put a want ad on YT and got about 6 replies for used mower that fits a Farmall H.
I modified the mounting brackets to center the mower. I pushed the rear wheels in as far as they would go and
the mower is wider than my wheelbase. I sold my 5 ft woods belly mower for what I paid for the 6 ft mower.
Try YT and. Then I'll post pics of how I modified the mounting brackets to prevent from damaging the mower belt.

I got my information from the book:
Farmall Letter Series Tractors Originality Guide
by Guy Fay and Andy Kraushaar
published 1998
Serial numbers are listed in appendix A
They list Farmall C serial numbers as follows:
1948 501 - 22623
1949 22624 - 47009
1950 47010 - 71879
1951 71880 - 80432

Very well researched book, great pictures, and shows correct decal placements as well as some great descriptions.

Wheelbase is the distance from the centerline of the rear wheels to the centerline of the front wheels. You probably mean track width when referring to the width of your tractor.
