Also, I'm trying to pull the oil pump out of the block, i removed the 2 bolts holding it to the block gently tapping on it with a hammer but it wont budge, any pointers?

Thanks jnf, well I cant get the cam out, I was thinking its because the oil pump was holding it back. I'm lost. waiting on a service manual to be delivered.

Oil pump has to come out before you can pull the cam, they can be tight if they've sat a while, if the 2 bolts are out they will rotate just keep working it and soak it with your favorite p oil it will come out if you keep at it

I had one whale of a time trying to get an oil pump out. Turns out there was water in the oil previous and the tractor was started while the pump was froze up stripped teeth off and bent the pump shaft. pump would would slide out . Had to pound the pump all the way out with a heavy hammer.

Is the cam grind the same in my U as in a UB?
