Looks an awful lot like an International. Look for an IH logo cast into the top of the gearbox, wheel hubs and adjusting leaver pawls. Looks like there is remnants of some silk screened words across the front of the frame. The only other manufacturer I know of that used a tie rod between the caster wheels like that is Massey Harris but the rear wheel yolks look wrong for Massey.

We had an International rake that was very similar to that with rubber tires on the back and steel on the front. Can'remember a whole lot more about it. Used it into the late 80's I think. Had the square link chain too. 👨‍🌾

Thanks for the replies, on my first look at it I didn't see any logos in the casting, but I will take a closer look. I saw the lettering on the front, but it was not brand specific, more like a warning label.

Looks like the one we had when I was a tyke, got replaced by a NH 55 before I knew what brands were, but I remember the rake. It worked pretty good for what it was, but we raked road ditches and that style rake likes to sag down, or crab walk, on a hillside and didn’t rake the best for dad.

Was able to get back to look at the hay rack, there is no logos in any of the castings to help identify the manufacturer, only cast numbered, like part numbers. I attached a couple of photos showing some of partial stencils that are still visible. The first image is the drive area showing some reddish orange paint. The second image is on a bar across the front. the third image is on the main bar on top. The last image is the drawbar. I also believe there looks like some dark green paint on the back wheels. Any help to identify this hay rake is appreciated. I really need to find a manual to get things adjusted and setup. Thanks DonO

There used to be alot of those rakes in My area, we owned one just like it back in the day but ours was on full rubber. I raked with one on full steel wheels when I helped the neighbors. We never had a manual for ours but from what I've seen they called that rake the IH McCormick enclosed gear tractor side delivery rake. There are several original manuals for sale on E Bay. We still have one on full steel out in the pasture that My Son brought home from the neighbors to save from the scrap man. We used it a few years ago when one of our roll a bar rakes was down. Those old McCormick rakes always did a good job of raking.

Minnesota made one something like that. I’m trying to remember….

I’m trying to sort through the pictures on duck duck go and find a match, it is just like the one we had but I can’t remember the brand. The front steel and rear rubber, and the way those rods stick up in back, help identify it in pics. As well as the gear setup/ casting, but often hard to see those details in a pic…
