i dont know what it is, but i have a hot rod 350 chevy and th400 trans that would make that a nice rat rod!!

I would guess they were refering to a model A ford. Cab looks like it came from an ol semi or other bigger truck like that with a home made or other crown over the radiator with maybe a Ford or again other hood draped over the engine laying on the cab and crown to fit. All on a Channel frame with axles bolted to them. So more of a homemade model A than anything.

It’s a 1930 model A cab and hood. Don’t know about the other parts. Looks like 36 Chevy front wheels
I’m sure you know more about Model A’s than I do. Normally wouldn’t have given your answer a second thought, but something about this looks off. This is due to the lower part of the door and body don’t angle in, see link.
Example model A Maybe its just the pictures.
I realize any amount of body modifications may have been performed for this project.

Also: I don't see gas tank opening in cowl. It appears to have a steel roof, not fabric. Also if my memory is ok it would be a Model AA being a truck cab, not Model A if Ford

The door looks to be totally something that was fabricated. Appears maybe to have a glass or metal panel that slides up and down.
Or nothing at all actually.
Upper cab corners are not an AA
Cowl is not AA
The AA center hood hinge is missing
AA has 19 louvers in hood side panel vs only 14 in the doodle bug.

This looks more like it.
And as you said.

And maybe the “straight down” door and body point towards the truck comment. I haven’t paid a lot of attention to any body styles or shapes from the 10’s - 40’s

You can see screw heads in the door skin. The door frame looks like some sort of wide and shallow unistrut style channel. With screw holes in the toes of channel.

I also should add that the frame looks like it is channel iron with the flanges towards the outside. I don’t think I have ever seen a car or truck with a channel frame that had the flanges facing out. I suspect it was done this way to allow the ends of the cross members to weld to the flat web of the channel iron.

I agree......not Model A because the cowl ahead of the window is too narrow for a gas tank.
It is a big "conglomeration" of stuff. The wheels are '35 Plymouth which would never fit the Ford hubs so the front axle was probably also changed. Too bad they didn't replace the rear with one from a truck and make it a "real" doodlebug.
