Can I brag??

I have three M Farmalls. About 15 years ago I paid a guy to convert one tractor to modern electronics. I then copied his work to convert the other two. I have never had anything work so well or be so successful. It has been below zero a lot of mornings for about two weeks and about a half a revolution with no choke and they are running. I know a lot of guys think this is cheating and not original, but I depend on my tractors as I am farming with them. (electronic ignition, 12 volt negative ground, alternator) Ellis

Ellis I have used pertronix on lots of vehicles/tractors and other engines. Always been very happy. My reason was generally stuff that was hard to get to the points or distributor.

All of my Pertronix conversations have been very successful. Some say that they have had them fail, but not me.
All of them start immediately.
Careful, they will start in gear.

I have had 4 older tractors and three trucks converted to electronic ignition. It was by necessity; the gas over the years kept getting worse, and it was the only way to stop fouling spark plugs in less than 100 hours.

I must be lucky-my IH 300u has @8000hrs, owned by our family since 75hrs. It is still 6v and still starts in 1/2 of a revolution almost all the time. Very seldom takes more than that and then I blame myself for not setting the throttle right. I can only blame pure dumb luck. Mark.

I am working on a 350U for a customer. I like them and think they are a nice little machine. I do like the live power and torque amp versions. IH always started good for me. Like i said i used the conversions on stuff that was hard to get to to fix points

I don't know why, but this 300u never has any problem with pints at all. When I was young and it was a lot newer, I started it up in the winter to haul manure and it started as good then as now. Nowadays it has an easier life but I still use it about 60-75 hrs a yr. I have been around a 350u, and I think it is a better tractor than the 300u, that is, the fast hitch is better. Mark.

nice, I put a Delco alt. on my 63' 504 it was alreadt 12v neg. ground, went easy. I put the same alt. on my 44' A, it was 6v poss. ground, went surprisingly easy, mounts etc. Good for you
